Guardian Home Program

What is our Guardian Program?

The Guardian Program allows for you to get one of our health tested and certified puppies for a fraction of the normal price. This special puppy gets to be part of your family forever, while the breeding rights (3 litters) are retained by Homegrown Goldendoodles for a short term amount of time. Once the dog has completed her breeding career she is spayed at our expense, and she will be signed over to you permanently. This dog will always remain a forever member of your family and will get to live full time with you and only come back to me for breeding, whelping, and raising the puppies until they are old enough to go to their new homes.

Why do we have Guardian Homes?

Our Guardian Home program was started as a way to expand our program without having dogs living in kennels or being retired into new homes. Our dogs are a part of our family and we treat them as family members. I can't emotionally handle the idea of a dog spending the majority of it's life with us and then having to adjust to a whole new home after I retire her from the breeding program. Guardian Homes allow a dog to live a full life with its designated family while still allowing me to breed an amazing line of health tested and certified puppies.

What are the benefits of being a part of the Guardian Home Program?

First of all, you get one of the very best puppies that Homegrown Goldendoodles has to offer. I choose our breeding studs based on the best temperaments and health tests to ensure the best puppies.

Another wonderful benefit is your puppy will be health tested at no charge to you. You can rest easy knowing your puppy is fully health tested before entering my breeding program.

Lastly, you get the excitement of being part of my breeding program and get to see the puppies of your dog placed with their own loving homes all across the country, bringing lots of love to families just as your puppy will do for you!

Is there a cost involved?

Yes, there is an upfront cost for the puppy. We want to ensure that people entering our Guardian Program are doing it for the right reasons, and having an upfront cost will usually discourage those that are not. We want the puppies to only go to the best homes possible! That is why there is an initial cost for the puppy, which will be refunded in full after her first litter along with additional compensation for each litter as a way of saying "thank you" for being a part of our Guardian Program.

So how does it work?

If you are approved for our Guardian Home Program, you will receive your puppy at 8 weeks old. When the puppy is old enough I will pay to have her health tested. If she passes all the tests she will be used as part of our breeding program. When she has her heat cycle around 2 years of age, she will come to me during the days she will be bred. She will then return to you until a week before puppies are due. She will stay with me to whelp and raise her puppies, then she will be returned to you. She will only have 3 litters at the most in our program, after which I will pay for her to be spayed, and sign over all her ownership papers to you and she becomes your permanent family member.
